The Friends of the Ipswich Art Gallery program is a fun, social, creative and educational way to engage with exhibitions and events at the Gallery. Members of the Friends are invited to ‘celebrate the seasons' via a seasonal program of events including exhibition previews, talks, workshops and tours.
A highlight of this program is the ‘house tour' - each year opening the doors to one of our region's superb heritage houses. This popular event is enjoyed with the benefit of historical anecdotes by guest speakers and delicious food - all in the company of good Friends!
The Friends taskforce meets on the last Thursday of every month excluding December and January. Revenue generated through the Friends program is invested into the acquisition of artworks and heritage items for the City of Ipswich Collection.
Other benefits of the Friends include:
- discounted admission to Gallery programs such as hands-on art-making workshops
- receiving quarterly exhibition and events brochures
- identification cards for all nominated subscribers
- 10% discount on purchases at the Gallery Shop
- 5% discount on exhibition entry at Queensland Art Gallery
