Scale Free Network – art/science workshops for students
Students will use stereo microscopes to explore detailed structures through different levels of magnification, they will observe anything from skin cells to plant structures to butterfly wings.
Students will then be encouraged to complete individual and collaborative drawings using live projections from under the microscope.
Each student is required to bring an item for observation under the stereo microscopes. Items can be organic (compost, leaves, plant roots, water, insects, hair) or manufactured (plastic, fabrics). Teachers are encouraged to direct students to select items that are most relevant to current classroom investigations.
