September school holiday activities sparkle, bounce and fly!

Explore the Wind Tubes, Create a Rainbow Maker, Make a Room or try out the Slackline at Ipswich Art Gallery these September school holidays! The Gallery is packed with fun, creative activities for children of all ages.

Wind Tubes is back! Design and build your very own flying creation to test in the Wind Tubes. See your creation take flight and soar to the ceiling, and defy gravity by hovering high overhead… or just fall to the floor. It’s all about air and invention, with a little bit of mid-air mayhem.

Calling all budding architects and interior designers! Make a Room from recycled materials. Be inspired by artist Anna Carey’s exhibition of photographs of her meticulously created small architectural model buildings.

Each weekday of the holidays, from 10am–1pm, two special school holiday activities – Create a Rainbow Maker and Slackline.

Create a Rainbow Maker that sparkles and refracts sunlight. Thread beads and decorations, and then hold it up to catch the sunlight. You can take your rainbow maker home and hang it in a window. How many rainbows will it make?

Will you be able to balance on our Slackline? The line is flat, stretchy and  bounces like a trampoline! Slacklining is the ultimate fun activity that builds focus, agility, and will. Instructors from Slackline Australia deliver brief lessons that teach more than just balancing safely on the line!
