Kate has called Ipswich home for most of her life and is well-known for her jewellery works and wearable art.

Having been influenced early on by her grandfather, who was a multi-skilled tradesman and jeweller, Kate Roberts began incorporating metal smithing into her practice eight years ago. It has since become her primary focus.

Her latest works in Copper Cohesion take her jewellery pieces further by presenting finished items, not merely as wearable art to adorn the human form, but rather as bespoke features within a larger cohesive display.

Something of a key fixture within the local visual art scene, Kate is known not only as a note-worthy artist, but also as the proprietor and resident workshop tutor at art supply store Arttime Supplies and curator of its Drawing Point Gallery within. Her works presented here cover a range of art practices from metalwork to etching to printmaking encapsulating the artist’s love of both material and process.
