Enjoy an afternoon indulging in a traditional high tea with petits fours and choux pastry treats served in the Exhibition Gallery.
Your afternoon begins with sparkling wine enjoyed while viewing Beauty in Hand: tenugui – Japan’s traditional hand towel. Learn about the role of tenugui (tay-nu-gui-i) in Japanese culture with an introduction by guest curator Fran Nolan, then observe as Tea Master Akiko Yamada demonstrates a Japanese Tea Ceremony accompanied by the sounds of the shakuhachi (Japanese flute).
